Who are we?

The Howick Youth Council is a collective of passionate individuals striving to make Howick, Botany, Ormiston, and Pakūranga a more attractive and vibrant place for its young people.

We are an independent and non-partisan entity that operates with and is funded by the Howick Local Board.

We seek to empower youth to bring about a positive influence in our community by ensuring their voices are heard in the decisions that shape our city.

The Howick Youth Council does this by organising events, advocating for issues that matter to young people, and facilitating consultation on council plans that will impact youth.

OPPORTUNITY

We create local valuable opportunities derived from our needs as youth.

Our Vision

REPRESENT

We represent youth voices to facilitate the recognition of our interests as youth.

EMPOWER

We empower HYC members to reach our potential as young leaders.
