Build your CV with HYC's resources!

Looking for a summer job? ☀️ 💼 Want some support with building your CV?

The Howick Youth Council have collated a series of resources from the CV Builder workshop earlier this year.

With tips and information on different parts of the CV, various templates as well as where you can find skills to help create your CV, the resources are there to assist you in vocational skill development.

The content include:

  • CV objectives, personal statements, interests and referees

  • Types of skills employers look for and and how to develop them

  • Skill-based, experience-based and combination CV templates

  • Protips for CV writing

The resources can be accessed below or through this link provided: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1TL2RSn9yY0OEeRBG8n6YLQOcbeSQdm-X

The resources are crafted by youth for youth, with professional insight in skills, objects and tips, directed to support young people.

As one of Howick Youth Council’s brand new events for 2021, the CV Builder was held at Botany Library on Saturday 17th April. The event focused on providing personalised, one-on-one support with writing a CV for young people in East Auckland, as well as essential skills around job and volunteer application.

This event aims to develop youth vocationally while supplying qualified personnel for advice and feedback. We saw youth bring in their CVs or created one from scratch while some engaged in one-on-one support with experts.
